Taliban Claim Arrest of Suspect Linked to Attacks on Chinese Nationals in Badakhshan
DID Press: Taliban security sources say their special forces carried out a nighttime raid in Afghanistan’s northeastern Badakhshan province, targeting a hideout believed to be linked to recent attacks on Chinese nationals near the Tajikistan border. One wanted suspect was arrested during the operation.

According to the sources, the raid took place late last night in Faizabad, the provincial capital of Badakhshan. Taliban-affiliated media reported that the hideout was being used by individuals involved in recent attacks against Chinese citizens.
Officials said a large cache of weapons and military ammunition was seized from the suspect. Preliminary interrogations reportedly suggest that the planning and coordination of the attacks were conducted from outside Afghanistan.
The Taliban have said investigations are continuing and that further details will be released once inquiries are completed.
