WHO Concludes Tuberculosis Review Mission in Afghanistan
DID Press: World Health Organization (WHO) office in Afghanistan announced that it has concluded a high-level mission in 2025 to review tuberculosis (TB) in the country.

The main objective of the mission was to evaluate the national TB program and support national partners in strengthening TB-related programs and services.
During the mission, WHO TB experts visited Kabul, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Herat provinces to closely assess service delivery, challenges, and existing capacities.
The findings and results of this review will play a key role in developing Afghanistan’s national TB strategic plan for 2026–2030 and will help ensure equitable, effective, and sustainable access to TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services for all citizens.
WHO emphasized that, in close cooperation with national and international institutions, practical steps are being taken to move closer to the goal of ending tuberculosis in Afghanistan.
