Tehran, Kabul Stress Expanding Trade via Chabahar

DID Press: Afghanistan’s acting ambassador to Tehran and the CEO of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization emphasized the expansion of economic ties and increased trade between the two countries.

Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, acting ambassador of Afghanistan in Tehran, met with Mohammad Saeed Arbabi, chairman and CEO of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, to discuss ways to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.

The meeting, attended by officials from the Chabahar Free Zone and a group of Afghan traders, focused on effectively utilizing Chabahar’s port and logistics capacities to facilitate exports, enhance transit, and increase bilateral trade volume.

The discussions also addressed challenges faced by business communities in both countries, with an agreement to establish practical mechanisms to overcome trade barriers.
