UNRWA: 33,000 Palestinians Displaced; West Bank Faces Worst Humanitarian Crisis

DID Press: Filippo Grandi, UN Commissioner-General for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), reported that over the past year, amid intensified Israeli military operations in the West Bank, more than 33,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from refugee camps in the northern part of the region.

According to Grandi, Israeli forces continue to demolish large sections of these camps, severely limiting the possibility of reconstruction and improving living conditions.

He stressed that the occupied West Bank is now experiencing its worst humanitarian situation since the 1967 occupation, and that continuation of this situation could further escalate the crisis.

Grandi also called for immediate international support to provide shelter, food, and essential services for the displaced, emphasizing that urgent action is needed to prevent the situation from worsening.
