Iran Rejects Messages from Washington, Tel Aviv; Netanyahu’s Threats Met with Firm Response

DID Press: Amid rising tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, informed sources say Tehran has rejected two key messages sent by Washington and Tel Aviv aimed at containing Iran’s response to potential attacks.

According to the report, the United States informed Iran through diplomatic channels that it was planning a limited strike and urged Tehran to “absorb” the attack or respond symbolically. Iran rejected the request, stating that it has redefined its rules of engagement and would now treat any attack as the start of a full-scale war.

At the same time, Israel reportedly sent a message to Iran via a mediator, claiming it would not take part in a U.S. attack and asking Tehran not to target Israel if Washington carried out military action. Iran also rejected this request, making it clear that any U.S. military operation would automatically place Israel among the targets. Recent threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are seen within this context.

Iran has also warned regional countries—including Baku, Riyadh, and other neighbors—that any attack launched from their territory or airspace would be met with a direct Iranian response.

Sources say these warnings and Iran’s level of readiness were the main reasons behind the postponement of a U.S. military strike planned for last Tuesday night. According to the sources, Washington chose scale back its military presence to avoid exposing Iran’s combat readiness and to prevent U.S. forces from being drawn into a broader Iranian response.
