DID Press: At least five countries, including Iraq, Bangladesh, and Indonesia, have expressed interest in purchasing JF-17 fighter jet, announced Pakistani officials.

The growing interest follows the successful performance of the JF-17 in aerial confrontations between Pakistan and India in May 2025.
According to reports, Iraq, Bangladesh, and Indonesia have officially shown interest in acquiring the JF-17, while Saudi Arabia and Libya are also evaluating the possibility of purchasing the aircraft.
Pakistani military officials have warned that, with the increase in global demand, the limited production capacity may result in delayed delivery timelines and additional pressure on the country’s defense industry.
The JF-17 is a lightweight combat aircraft co-developed by Pakistan and China, and it is currently manufactured at Pakistan’s aerospace complex.
The aircraft, developed in collaboration with Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group of China and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, made its first flight in 2003. The JF-17 was designed to replace Pakistan’s older generation of combat aircraft and is capable of performing a wide range of aerial missions.
The recent success of the JF-17 in air combat has enhanced its international reputation, attracting significant interest from various countries to purchase this versatile fighter jet.
