Tehran: Afghan Migrants Unite Against War, Foreign Intervention

DID Press: Afghan migrants residing in the Islamic Republic of Iran gathered in Tehran for a conference, where they voiced their strong opposition to war, foreign intervention, and threats against nations, emphasizing Islamic and human solidarity.

The “Islamic and Human Solidarity with the People and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran” conference was held on Friday, February 17, 2026, organized by the Afghan Migrants Council in Iran. The event was attended by a group of scholars, researchers, and political and cultural activists from both Shia and Sunni backgrounds.

Speakers at the event referenced the painful experiences of the Afghan people, shaped by decades of war, occupation, and terrorism, and firmly stated that the Afghan people would not allow the same destructive scenario to unfold against Iran.

Participants condemned the Israeli regime’s attacks on sacred sites, educational institutions, and public spaces, labeling these actions as blatant violations of international law and human rights values.

They also assessed recent U.S. threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran as a factor contributing to increased regional insecurity and the weakening of global order.

At the conclusion of the event, attendees emphasized the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and called for a more active role for the United Nations and the international community in preventing war-mongering. They stressed the importance of enhancing the role of Afghan migrants in countering hostile psychological and media warfare.
