Bloomberg: UK PM May Resign Within Week

DID Press: Keir Starmer, UK Prime Minister, may be forced to resign within the next week, according to sources close to the ruling Labour Party.

The primary cause of this political crisis is the scandal involving the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the British Ambassador to the United States. Mandelson, a close associate of convicted child sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, was appointed despite his controversial connections. This scandal has already led to the resignation of Morgan McSweeney, the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, on Sunday.

Bloomberg reports that some Labour Party members are surprised Starmer is still in office, as he personally approved Mandelson’s appointment. Furthermore, reports suggest that some officials within the Prime Minister’s office are privately attempting to persuade government members to either convince Starmer to resign or threaten their own resignations to push him out.

A close advisor to one of the ministers has evaluated the likelihood of Starmer’s resignation in the coming week as “50-50.”

This crisis comes as the Labour Party, under Starmer’s leadership, faces one of its biggest political tests since winning the elections, with the future of Starmer’s premiership now shrouded in uncertainty.
