Yedioth Ahronoth: Iran Could Possess at Least 5,000 Ballistic Missiles by 2027

DID Press: Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has reported that, according to Israeli security assessments, Iran could possess at least 5,000 ballistic missiles by the end of 2027 — a capability that Israeli officials say currently has no definitive solution for complete neutralization.

Israeli security officials emphasized that in a scenario where Iran is equipped with thousands of ballistic missiles, the only feasible measures would be to reduce potential damage, strengthen defensive layers, and improve detection and early warning systems. However, they acknowledged that fully eliminating the threat would not be possible.

The newspaper added that from Tel Aviv’s perspective, Iran’s ballistic missile program represents Israel’s most urgent security challenge, while the United States continues to focus its negotiations with Tehran primarily on the nuclear file.
