DID Press: Deputy commander of the Lachi police district was killed along with two bodyguards and several other police officers, In a violent attack today in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The assault occurred near the Shakdara road, and the gunmen fled the scene after a heavy exchange of fire.
Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an extensive operation to track and apprehend the attackers. Meanwhile, the provincial governor warned of a worsening security situation in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Official statistics indicate that casualties from insecurity in the province have risen sharply, from 1,620 in 2024 to 2,331 in 2025, highlighting the escalating violence in the region.
