DID Press: Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, has dismissed recent claims by Donald Trump about Iran as a “big lie,” accusing Washington and its allies of waging a systematic disinformation campaign against the Iranian people.

In a written statement, Baghaei said “professional liars have a special skill in fabricating false realities,” referring to the propaganda doctrine associated with Joseph Goebbels, the former Nazi propaganda minister, that a lie repeated often enough can appear as truth. He argued that this method is being employed by the United States, pro-war political currents close to it, and the Israeli government to advance what he described as a broad campaign of misinformation against Iran.
Baghaei said allegations regarding Iran’s nuclear program, claims about the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles, and disputed figures on fatalities during recent unrest were part of what he called a pattern of “big lies” that should not be accepted as credible.
