DID Press: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, a senior Pakistani politician and head of the opposition in the National Assembly, has described Iran’s attacks on US military bases in the Persian Gulf region as legitimate.

Achakzai stated: “Iran makes one thing very clear: wherever my country is attacked, that place becomes my target.” He cited a Pashto proverb aimed at those who harbor enemies or allow their land to be used: “Either erase the thief’s footprints from your village, or hand the thief over to me.”
He added, “When Islamic countries host U.S. military bases and America uses their territory to strike Iran, what choice does Iran have but to respond and target those locations? In this matter, neither Iran nor Imran Khan (in supporting Iran’s right to defense) is wrong. It is time for Muslim nations to unite with Iran.”
