Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 72,000, Palestinian Health Ministry Says

DID Press: Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the ongoing war in Gaza Strip, which began in October 2023, has risen to 72,234, with 171,852 people reported injured.

According to the ministry’s statement in Gaza, the figures reflect the escalating humanitarian crisis in the enclave as continued fighting places immense pressure on medical and emergency infrastructure.

Palestinian officials warned that the rising number of casualties highlights the persistence of the humanitarian emergency and the urgent need for medical assistance, food supplies, and shelter for civilians.

Ongoing military operations by Israel have significantly affected the lives of millions of Gaza residents, with residential areas, schools, and hospitals among the sites reportedly impacted by the strikes.

International organizations and human rights groups have repeatedly warned about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and called for an immediate halt to hostilities. Many have also stressed the importance of expanding humanitarian aid and ensuring safe corridors for relief operations.
