Islamic Relief Warns Over Growing Humanitarian Crisis in Eastern Afghanistan

DID Press: Islamic Relief Worldwide reported that escalating clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani army have forced thousands of families in eastern Afghanistan to flee their homes, leaving them in increasingly dire conditions.

The aid agency highlighted severe shortages of food supplies, drinking water, and adequate shelter, describing the situation of displaced families as “urgent and deeply concerning.” It called on both sides to rapidly de-escalate tensions and resume a ceasefire to enable the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

Islamic Relief further warned that continued fighting could intensify the humanitarian crisis in the region and further restrict relief organizations’ access to affected populations.
