Returning Women in Herat Boost Investment in Handicrafts, Food Production
DID Press: Over the past year, more than 200 women who returned to Herat have invested in handicrafts and food production, achieving economic self-sufficiency.

The Herat Women’s Chamber of Commerce reported that these returning Afghan women from neighboring countries have entered commercial activities, contributing significantly to the growth of local businesses.
By producing various handicrafts and food products, these women not only meet domestic market demands but are also seeking export opportunities to introduce their products internationally.
According to the Chamber, these women entrepreneurs emphasize that government support is essential for expanding economic activities and participating in international exhibitions and markets.
They have called on Taliban authorities to facilitate exports and support women’s participation in global events, paving the way for the growth of small women-led businesses.
