UN Outrage Over Israel Attacks in Lebanon, Calls for Perpetrators to Face Justice

DID Press: UN has strongly condemned the recent large-scale attacks and killings carried out by Israel across various area in Lebanon, describing them as “horrific and shocking.”

Volker Türk stated in an official declaration: “The scale of killing and destruction in Lebanon today is nothing short of catastrophic.” He added that such violence occurring only hours after a ceasefire agreement with Iran is “unbelievable” and places severe strain on the fragile peace in the region.

The UN human rights chief stressed that all alleged violations of international law must be subject to immediate and independent investigations, and that those responsible for the attacks must be brought to justice.

According to reports, Israeli forces violated the ceasefire and carried out strikes on hospitals and medical centers, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people in Lebanon and leaving more than a thousand others injured.
