6 Arrested After Armed Robbery of Currency Exchange in Helmand

DID Press: Ministry of Interior of the Taliban administration says police forces in Musa Qala District have recovered part of the money stolen from a currency exchange and arrested six armed suspects in connection with the incident.

According to Ministry of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan, the suspects allegedly stole around 36 million Pakistani rupees from a money exchanger in the Nasir Khan Dara area, located between Nawzad District and Musa Qala, on 25 Ramadan.

Local police commander Mawlawi Mesbahullah Adil said the group used pistols during the robbery before fleeing the scene with the cash.

He added that following targeted intelligence-led operations, security forces recovered 12.75 million Pakistani rupees from the detained suspects.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to locate the remaining stolen funds and identify any additional accomplices.
