DID Press: Mohammadreza Aref sharply criticized United States policy toward Israel, claiming Washington has effectively subordinated its strategic independence to Israeli interests.

Aref said that despite the “America First” slogan, current US policy has in practice reduced Washington’s decision-making autonomy, a situation he described metaphorically as turning the United States into a “seventh province of Israel.”
He argued that such an approach could fuel dissatisfaction among American citizens by undermining perceptions of national sovereignty in foreign policy decisions.
The Iranian official also criticized the broader strategic direction of US leadership under Donald Trump, claiming it lacks coherent long-term planning and consistent policy execution.
In contrast, he emphasized that Iran maintains a clearly defined strategic framework, with both short-term and long-term planning designed to address regional and international challenges.
