Taliban Begins Airlift of Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for Hajj

DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs has announced the official start of transporting Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi, head of Hajj, Umrah, and Pilgrimage Affairs at the ministry, stated that a total of 30,000 Afghan pilgrims will be transported to Saudi Arabia through 96 flights.

According to the official, the transfer process will be carried out in two phases: in the first phase, 15,000 pilgrims will be flown to Medina, followed by another 15,000 pilgrims who will be transported to the city of Jeddah.

He also emphasized that special delegations have already been dispatched to Saudi Arabia in advance to facilitate services for pilgrims and coordinate arrangements related to accommodation, transportation, and other essential services.

The ministry has assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the orderly, safe, and timely transfer of pilgrims, with ongoing efforts to enable Afghan pilgrims to perform the Hajj rituals smoothly and without difficulty.
