Resistance Council: Limited Taliban Invitations Cannot Resolve Afghanistan Crisis
DID Press: Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan has stated that resolving the country’s ongoing crisis requires a comprehensive and inclusive political process, warning that limited initiatives cannot deliver lasting stability.

In a statement issued on Friday, April 17, the council said that outreach efforts by the Taliban administration to a number of political figures living abroad—without a clear framework and broad participation—cannot provide a viable solution to Afghanistan’s crisis.
The statement emphasized that any meaningful political dialogue must include all political movements, tribal elders, national elites, civil society representatives, and other segments of society.
According to the council, establishing a legitimate political system based on the will of the people, holding nationwide elections, and guaranteeing fundamental civil rights—particularly for women—are essential pillars of any sustainable political agreement.
The position comes after Shahabuddin Delawar previously announced that several prominent political figures, including Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, Mohammad Mohaqiq, and Abdul Rashid Dostum, had been invited to return to the country.
