Russia Warns Afghanistan Instability Poses Major Regional Security Threat
DID Press: Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov has stated that the ongoing instability in Afghanistan continues to be a key source of terrorist threats and transnational crime across the region.

Speaking at a meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek, Belousov said the gathering is taking place amid severe global instability.
He warned against attempts by external actors to establish military presence in Central Asia, stressing that such moves are unacceptable to Russia and are being closely monitored.
Belousov also noted that efforts by SCO member states, including Pakistan, to pursue diplomatic solutions to regional crises—particularly in the Middle East—represent an important step toward restoring stability.
He further accused the United States and its Western allies of undermining global security structures in pursuit of maintaining international dominance, arguing that this approach is intensifying geopolitical tensions and weakening strategic stability.
