Iran Air Force Details Early War Strikes Amid NBC Report on Penetrated Air Defenses

DID Press: Iranian Armed Forces spokesperson, Mohammad Akramnia, has referenced a recent report by NBC News while disclosing new details about Iranian air operations conducted in the early days of the conflict.

According to statements published by Iranian media, including ISNA, Akramnia said Iranian fighter jets and drones carried out multiple sorties in the opening phase of the war, targeting positions in Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

He claimed these operations were conducted despite advanced U.S. air defence systems and included the successful penetration of layered defensive networks. Akramnia added that Iran’s air force later expanded its operational range through the use of combat drones.

The NBC report, which highlighted an Iranian F-5 aircraft allegedly breaching multiple U.S. and Kuwaiti defence layers, has circulated widely on social media, where users have compared the mission to cinematic depictions of aerial combat and called for further disclosure on the pilot’s identity and mission outcome.

The Pentagon has not yet issued an official response to the claims.
