Iran, Taliban Emphasize Expansion of Economic Cooperation
DID Press: Officials from Iran and Taliban have held talks in Tehran, stressing the need to streamline diplomatic processes, remove existing obstacles, and expand cooperation in economic and cultural fields.

In line with ongoing diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Kabul, Afghanistan’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran, Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, met with Ali Akbar Nazari at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including economic, cultural, and political areas.
Haqqani expressed appreciation for Iran’s hospitality toward Afghan migrants and called for broader engagement and the removal of barriers affecting bilateral cooperation.
Nazari reaffirmed Tehran’s positive approach toward enhancing ties with Kabul and expressed Iran’s readiness to further develop cooperation and facilitate institutional communication between relevant bodies. He also highlighted the importance of closer coordination in addressing shared challenges.
Both sides agreed to increase consultations and improve coordination between the Afghan embassy and Iranian authorities to advance mutual interests.
