Taliban Officials Hold Talks on Jobs and Institutional Coordination

DID Press: Senior officials of the Taliban administration held discussions focused on employment and inter-ministerial cooperation in Kabul.

Sirajuddin Haqqani, the interior minister, met with Abdul Manan Omari, minister of labor and social affairs and a relative of the late Mullah Omar, to discuss coordination between government institutions and job creation policies.

According to a statement from the Interior Ministry, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between ministries, creating employment opportunities for citizens, and facilitating labor migration abroad for Afghan workers.

Spokesman Abdul Matin Qani said the talks aimed to improve administrative coordination and address economic challenges facing the population, though no concrete policy outcomes were announced.

The meeting comes amid reports of internal differences within the Taliban leadership over governance approaches. Observers note tensions between figures in Kandahar’s leadership circle and officials advocating for broader engagement and institutional reforms.

Hibatullah Akhundzada has maintained a more centralized and conservative decision-making structure, while other senior figures have reportedly pushed for greater internal consultation and engagement on political and social issues.
