DID Press: A powerful explosion at a fireworks factory in central China has killed at least 21 people and injured 61 others, triggering a large-scale emergency response.

The blast occurred Monday afternoon in the city of Liuyang, located in Hunan Province, a major hub for China’s fireworks industry.
Authorities swiftly activated emergency protocols, dispatching five rescue teams comprising 482 personnel to the scene. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, utilizing advanced technologies including rescue robots and coordinated human-machine response systems.
According to Xinhua News Agency, 20 rescue points have been established at the site, and all injured individuals have been transported to hospitals.
Due to the presence of two warehouses containing explosive materials, officials designated a one-kilometer radius as the core rescue zone and a three-kilometer area as a controlled perimeter. Residents in high-risk zones were evacuated as a precaution.
Safety measures, including the establishment of protective barriers and environmental dampening to prevent secondary explosions, have been implemented.
Local authorities have also placed several company managers under investigation as part of an ongoing probe into the cause of the explosion.
