Pakistan Deports Over 5,000 Afghan Migrants as Repatriation Wave Continues
DID Press: Pakistani authorities have deported more than 5,000 Afghan migrants, sending them back to Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings, according to officials.

The Taliban-run High Commission for Migrant Affairs said a total of 5,126 Afghan nationals were returned in the latest wave of expulsions, which continues amid ongoing border enforcement operations.
The returnees reportedly entered Afghanistan through key crossing points in eastern and southern regions, where authorities have been coordinating initial reception and temporary assistance measures.
Taliban officials stated that efforts are underway to provide basic services and temporary shelter for incoming families and individuals, many of whom arrive with limited resources after sudden deportation.
However, experts warn that the increasing number of returnees could place significant pressure on already limited local infrastructure, particularly in border provinces where humanitarian and economic resources remain constrained.
