UK Envoy Praises Afghan Women’s Resilience and Role in Shaping Future
DID Press: Richard Lindsay has praised the resilience and contributions of Afghan women during his recent visit to Kabul, saying women across the country continue to carry out “inspiring and courageous” efforts despite mounting challenges.

Lindsay said he met several influential Afghan women working in different social and educational sectors to help build a better future for Afghanistan.
He also visited Radio Begum in Kabul, describing the outlet as an important platform for women’s education and awareness.
According to the British diplomat, Radio Begum provides “a valuable service by women for women,” helping address educational and social needs while positively impacting the lives of Afghan women.
Lindsay further congratulated Zakia Ahmadi on her ascent of Mount Everest, calling the achievement a symbol of resilience, courage, and the capabilities of Afghan women.
He said Ahmadi’s accomplishment demonstrated that Afghan women possess the determination and potential to reach the world’s highest levels of success.
