DID Press: Pakistan’s military says security forces have killed 17 suspected militants during a series of intelligence-based operations in the southwestern province of Balochistan.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were launched following a May 24 attack on a train in Quetta that left at least 14 people dead, including three members of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps, and injured several others.
The military said the intelligence-led raids were conducted across multiple districts of Balochistan and targeted individuals allegedly involved in a number of militant attacks in the region.
Pakistani authorities claimed the slain militants were affiliated with a group referred to as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” which Islamabad describes as being involved in attacks against both security personnel and civilians.
No further details have been released regarding the identities of those killed or the exact locations of the operations. Security measures and investigations remain ongoing.
