Fazlur Rehman Urges Pakistan to Focus on Domestic Militancy
DID Press: Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, has criticized the Pakistani government’s security approach, urging authorities to focus on armed groups operating داخل the country rather than directing blame toward Afghanistan.

Speaking on recent security developments, Rehman said the government frequently accuses Afghanistan of hosting militant bases and uses those allegations to justify military actions, while failing to effectively address the activities of armed groups within Pakistan.
He argued that resolving security challenges requires confronting internal threats and addressing domestic factors contributing to instability, rather than attributing all security problems to Afghanistan.
Rehman emphasized that a sustainable security strategy should prioritize tackling militancy inside Pakistan and strengthening political and security mechanisms at home.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, with both sides exchanging accusations over security incidents and cross-border militancy in recent months.
