US Deports Group of Migrants, Including Afghans, to Central African Republic

DID Press: United States has reportedly deported a group of around 20 migrants, including nationals from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and Armenia, to the Central African Republic in a move linked to the Trump administration’s immigration policy.

According to US media reports, the individuals were transferred on Friday to the Central African Republic. Officials said the deportations are part of a broader policy targeting migrants whose return to their countries of origin is considered politically or diplomatically difficult.

The Central African Republic is among the world’s poorest countries and has experienced prolonged internal conflict, insecurity, and widespread human rights concerns. The United States Department of State has issued a Level 4 travel advisory for the country, warning citizens against all travel due to high risks including armed conflict and kidnapping.

Reports indicate that Afghan nationals were among those deported, although exact numbers and their current legal status have not been disclosed.

Human rights and migrant advocacy groups have criticized the move, warning that transferring asylum seekers or migrants to unstable third countries could raise serious legal and humanitarian concerns.

Analysts say the policy reflects growing challenges in US immigration enforcement, particularly in cases involving individuals from conflict-affected countries such as Afghanistan, where return or relocation can carry significant security risks.
