High-Level Afghan Delegation Expected at Funeral Ceremony for Ayatollah Khamenei
DID Press: A high-level delegation from Afghanistan is expected to travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran to attend the funeral ceremony of the late Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei, according to reports from Taliban-linked media outlets.

The outlet “Amaj News” and other sources close to the Taliban reported that a senior delegation from the Afghan governing authority will participate in the ceremony. While the exact composition has not been officially announced, it is expected to include officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister.
Earlier, several Taliban officials issued condolence messages describing the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader as a “major loss for the Islamic world.”
Relations between Afghanistan and Iran have seen fluctuations in recent years, particularly over issues related to borders, water management, and economic cooperation. Observers say that the possible participation of an official delegation could signal continued diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Iranian authorities have not yet released the official list of foreign dignitaries expected to attend the ceremony, although regional and international delegations are traditionally present at such events.
