DID Press: Technical negotiations involving Iran, United States, Pakistan and Qatar have concluded with an agreement on the structure and mechanisms for future talks, according to Iran’s deputy foreign minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

Gharibabadi, who headed the Iranian technical delegation, said the discussions followed an extended meeting of the high-level committee responsible for overseeing implementation of the memorandum of understanding, which continued into the early hours of Monday.
He stated that subsequent technical sessions focused on developing implementation mechanisms and drafting the final communiqué, with the participating parties reaching the necessary understandings.
Under the agreed framework, future negotiations will be conducted under the supervision of a high-level committee and attended by senior representatives of all four countries.
The parties also agreed to establish four specialized working groups focused on sanctions relief, nuclear-related issues, economic reconstruction and development, and monitoring and implementation mechanisms.
In addition, participants agreed to create a joint contact point aimed at facilitating the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route.
The agreement is expected to provide an institutional framework for continued dialogue and coordination among the four countries on political, economic and security-related issues.
