Erdogan Says Confronting Zionism Is a Struggle for Turkey’s Survival

DID Press: Recep Tayyip Erdogan has sharply criticized Israel’s policies, saying that confronting Zionism is not merely a political stance but a struggle tied to the security and survival of the Turkish nation.

Speaking at a meeting of the Justice and Development Party, Erdogan said recent regional developments require greater vigilance and unity among countries in the region.

“Our struggle against this regime is not a personal one,” Erdogan said. “It is a struggle for our own survival and for the people of Turkey.”

The Turkish president further claimed that what he described as the “occupying, expansionist and genocidal ideology of Zionism” poses a threat not only to the government and ruling coalition but also to the Turkish people as a whole.

Erdogan also stressed the need for regional countries to remain alert to what he characterized as threats arising from Israeli policies, reiterating Ankara’s longstanding criticism of Israel’s actions in the region.

His remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and continuing debates over security, diplomacy, and the broader geopolitical implications of conflicts across the Middle East.
