Strong Quake Shakes Multiple Provinces Across Afghanistan

DID Press: A relatively strong earthquake was felt across several provinces of Afghanistan on Saturday evening, according to reports from residents in multiple parts of the country.

The first reports emerged from Kabul, where residents said the capital experienced strong tremors.Subsequent reports confirmed that the earthquake was also felt in Badakhshan, Laghman, Baghlan, Sar-e Pul, Jawzjan, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kunduz and Samangan provinces.

Tremors were also reported in parts of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Residents in several areas described the shaking as strong, prompting many people to leave their homes as a precaution.

No official authority has yet released information on the earthquake’s magnitude, epicenter or any casualties and damage.Authorities are expected to provide further updates as assessments continue.
