DID Press: Iraqi authorities have begun preparations in the holy city of Najaf for the funeral ceremony of “Martyr Imam” Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, according to officials from Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

The head of the PMF’s Service Jihad Department announced that work has started on key routes leading to religious sites and the planned funeral venue in Najaf province.
According to the statement, the preparations include road rehabilitation, improvements to transportation routes, and the development of infrastructure needed to accommodate large numbers of mourners and pilgrims expected to attend the ceremony.
PMF officials said the project is aimed at ensuring the smooth organization of the funeral and facilitating the movement of participants traveling to Najaf from across Iraq and neighboring countries.
The service and construction campaign comes amid expectations that large crowds of pilgrims, religious delegations, and public mourners will travel to Najaf to take part in the funeral ceremony.
