Qatar, Pakistan Claim Progress in Iran–US Talks in Doha

DID Press: Qatar and Pakistan, acting as mediators, say they have made positive progress in separate discussions with Iranian and U.S. negotiators during recent talks held in Doha.

Majed Mohammed Al-Ansari said on Thursday that mediators held separate meetings with both sides, focusing on issues linked to the Islamabad memorandum and building on outcomes from a previous round of talks.

He added that the parties agreed to continue negotiations in the near future, with the next round expected to take place after the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s former president.

According to Al-Ansari, the discussions were constructive and aimed at strengthening trust and understanding between Tehran and Washington.

The talks reportedly involved mediation efforts by Qatar and Pakistan, both of which have played an increasingly active diplomatic role in regional negotiations involving Iran and the United States.
