England national football team defeated the DR Congo national football team 2–1 in a tightly contested match. England initially fell behind but staged a second-half comeback, overturning the result to secure qualification.
In one of the most dramatic encounters, Belgium national football team beat Senegal national football team 3–2. Senegal led 2–0 until the final stages, but Belgium mounted a late comeback and scored the winning goal in extra time.
United States men’s national soccer team also advanced after a disciplined 2–0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team. The United States controlled the match despite sustained pressure from the opposition.
