Kabul–Moscow Political Consultations Held in Afghanistan
DID Press: The second round of political consultations between the Taliban administration and Russia has been held in Kabul, with both sides discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations, expand economic cooperation, and enhance coordination on regional issues.

Afghan Foreign Ministry deputy spokesperson Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal said the meeting took place at the level of departmental heads.
The Afghan delegation was led by Abdulhai Qanit, head of the Third Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Russian side was headed by Alexey Pavlovsky, director of the Second Asia Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Both sides exchanged views on the expansion of Afghanistan–Russia relations, recent regional and global political developments, regional peace and security, and other areas of mutual interest.
The delegations also emphasized deepening economic cooperation through increased bilateral trade, new investment opportunities, and strengthening practical collaboration in transport and transit corridors.
Cooperation within regional and international organizations, regional connectivity, and broader engagement in shared areas were also discussed.
Both sides agreed to hold the third round of political consultations in Moscow at a mutually agreed date.
