India Demolishes Several Mosques in Uttar Pradesh
DID Press: Authorities in India’s Uttar Pradesh state have begun demolishing five mosques as part of a wider campaign targeting what officials describe as “unauthorized” religious structures.

The government says the mosques were built without permits on state-owned land. However, the move is part of a broader drive that has already seen dozens of religious sites demolished across the country.
Local resident Zakir Hussain told media that a mosque where dozens of people used to pray was also destroyed, adding that the action has deeply affected the local community.
