Afghanistan Shia Council Chief Meets Iranian President
DID Press: Ayatollah Salehi Modarres, chairman of the Supreme Council of Shia Scholars of Afghanistan, met with Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of an international conference in Tehran, where the two discussed religious, cultural, and bilateral cooperation.

Ayatollah Salehi Modarres attended the international conference titled “Imam Khamenei: Eternal Resistance”, which brought together senior officials, scholars, and prominent figures from across the Islamic world in Tehran.
During his meeting with President Pezeshkian, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening religious and cultural ties, expanding mutual cooperation, and enhancing relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
Salehi Modarres emphasized the importance of unity within the Islamic Ummah and greater regional solidarity in addressing shared challenges. He also underlined the need to expand academic and cultural exchanges among religious institutions.
The conference was attended by political and religious leaders, as well as representatives of resistance movements from several countries.
