DID Press: Iranian cleric Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani has strongly condemned the assassination of the “Ummah’s Martyred Leader,” stating that those responsible for the killing will inevitably face retribution.
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani said the scale of public participation in the funeral ceremony demonstrated only a fraction of the reverence held for the late figure, adding that the depth of his personality and contributions will become more evident over time.
He noted that the large turnout during the funeral surprised observers globally and predicted that further expressions of public support would emerge in the coming days.
According to him, the mass gathering reflected only part of the deceased leader’s popularity, which extended across the Islamic world and beyond.
The cleric also emphasized the anti-oppression spirit of the Iranian people, saying their religious values do not allow alignment with injustice or domination, and that resistance against oppression remains a core national principle.
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani further warned those responsible for the assassination, stating that punishment for the perpetrators is “certain and unavoidable.”
