DID Press: US President Donald Trump has called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw Israeli forces from Syria and take similar steps in Lebanon, according to a report by Axios.
The report said the phone call between Trump and Netanyahu took place on July 9, during which Trump warned that the continued presence of Israeli forces in Syrian territory was increasing tensions and could contribute to further escalation.
Citing a US official, Axios reported that Trump told Netanyahu: “They do not want you there; you should move and withdraw your forces.”
The official added that the US president made a similar request regarding Israeli military presence in Lebanon.
