Herat Takes Center Stage in Turkmen-Afghan Logistics Cooperation

DID Press: Turkmenistan’s Hazar Logistics has held talks with a delegation from the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment on strengthening bilateral trade, transit and logistics cooperation, underscoring efforts to deepen economic connectivity between the two neighboring countries.

According to the company, the meeting took place at Hazar Logistics’ headquarters in Ashgabat, where both sides discussed ways to expand economic ties, enhance transit corridors and create new opportunities for cooperation in transportation and logistics.

The discussions also focused on broadening commercial relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Hazar Logistics expressed hope that the understandings reached during the meeting would pave the way for long-term and sustainable cooperation.

Turkmenistan remains one of Afghanistan’s key economic and transit partners. Bilateral cooperation is centered on improving transport connectivity, facilitating cross-border trade and advancing major infrastructure initiatives, including the TAPI Gas Pipeline, electricity transmission projects, and the expansion of railway and logistics networks.

The western Afghan province of Herat, one of the country’s principal commercial hubs, continues to play a pivotal role in trade and transit between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
