Taliban: Afghanistan-Iran Economic Cooperation Can Drive Regional Growth

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Taliban-appointed Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, has called for expanded economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran, saying stronger ties would benefit not only the two countries but the wider region.

Azizi said economic relations with neighboring countries are a top priority of Afghanistan’s trade policy and described Iran as one of its key strategic partners in this area.

Iranian Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri Qezeljeh also stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation, saying the two countries could create new opportunities for sustainable development through cooperation in areas such as food security and agricultural capacity.

The statements highlight efforts by both sides to make economic relations a central pillar of regional cooperation and strengthen strategic ties between Kabul and Tehran.
