Taliban Warns Pakistan of “Calculated Response” to Any Aggression

DID Press: Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban’s acting defense minister, has warned Pakistan that any act of aggression against Afghan territory will face a calculated response. At the same time, the Taliban said in a statement marking the fifth anniversary of its return to power that it would not allow anyone to use Afghan soil against another country and reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful relations with the international community.

Mujahid accused Pakistan of viewing Afghanistan’s security and development as a threat to its own interests and alleged that Islamabad is seeking to destabilize Afghanistan by supporting what he described as destructive groups, particularly Islamic State (ISIS), along the Durand Line and in major cities.

He stressed that Afghanistan does not want continued regional tensions and said disputes should be resolved through dialogue.

Meanwhile, in a message marking the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s return to power, the Taliban government said Afghanistan wants to live in peace and stability with all countries around the world.

The statement said no one would be allowed to use Afghan territory against another country, while other countries should respect Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and national interests.

The positions reflect the Taliban’s effort to project a dual approach: issuing a military warning to Pakistan while simultaneously emphasizing peace and non-interference. This comes as Afghanistan continues to face security challenges and deep regional mistrust.
