UNICEF: Hundreds of Thousands of Malnourished Children Treated in Afghanistan

DID Press: UNICEF says it has provided essential health and support services to millions of people across Afghanistan, with more than 18.9 million people in all 34 provinces benefiting from health services.

UNICEF said that with financial support from donors, millions of people across Afghanistan have received essential health and support services.

According to the agency, more than 18.9 million people in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan have gained access to health services.

UNICEF also said 6.8 million children were screened for malnutrition, while more than 363,000 malnourished children received treatment.

The agency further reported providing educational support to 55,937 vulnerable children and cash assistance to 65,162 families.

In its latest reports, UNICEF has also warned of the continuing malnutrition crisis in Afghanistan, saying 3.7 million children under the age of five are at heightened risk of malnutrition.
