Four Taliban Members Killed in Rocket Attack on Governor’s Office in Badakhshan
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Freedom Front said Thursday that its fighters carried out a rocket attack on the Taliban governor’s office in northeastern Badakhshan province, killing four Taliban members and wounding five others.

In a statement issued on Thursday, August 20, the group said its overnight operation involved direct clashes with Taliban forces and lasted for about 30 minutes.
According to the Freedom Front, four Taliban members were killed and five others wounded during the confrontation, while its fighters withdrew from the area without casualties.
The Taliban have not publicly commented on the group’s claims, and the reported casualties could not be independently verified.
The attack comes amid a reported increase in anti-Taliban armed activity in Badakhshan in recent weeks, with the northeastern province witnessing a number of attacks targeting Taliban positions.
Several weeks ago, Yiftal-e Payin district was briefly reported to have fallen out of Taliban control, an incident that highlighted growing security pressure on the group in northeastern Afghanistan.
