Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgeries Offered to Children in Kabul

DID Press: The Afghan Red Crescent Society has announced that, in cooperation with medical specialists from Bangladesh’s Al Markazul Islami, children with cleft lip and cleft palate conditions will receive free surgery and treatment in Kabul from September 6 to September 15, 2026.

The procedures will be carried out at the Afghan Red Crescent Society Central Hospital using advanced medical equipment.

According to the announced eligibility requirements, children must be at least five months old, weigh at least five kilograms, and have a hemoglobin level of approximately 10 grams per deciliter.

Children with congenital heart conditions or respiratory infections are not eligible for the surgical program under the stated criteria.

Families with eligible children can visit the Afghan Red Crescent Society Central Hospital during the announced dates to seek free surgery and medical treatment.
