Balkhi: US Military Equipment Left in Afghanistan Belongs to Afghan Government

DID Press: Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi said military equipment left behind by US forces in Afghanistan belongs to the Afghan government, adding that Kabul has no intention of negotiating or trading the equipment.

Balkhi, speaking about the military equipment left behind by US forces in Afghanistan, said the equipment now belongs to the Afghan government and that Kabul is not seeking to enter into any deal over the assets.

He stressed that the equipment would remain in Afghanistan and that the government does not intend to hand it over to the United States as part of any agreement.

The Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman also responded to arguments that the equipment had been purchased with money from US taxpayers. Referring to US military operations in Afghanistan, he said: “Shouldn’t Americans first pay for what they have done?”
