DID Press: World Health Organization (WHO), marking World Mental Health Day, has said that one in seven people worldwide lives with a mental health condition, highlighting the need to strengthen support and care services.

In a report marking the occasion, the WHO called for stronger community-based mental health services and measures to ensure continuity of care for people experiencing mental health conditions.
The organization emphasized that people with lived experience of mental health conditions should play an active role at every stage of service delivery, from designing and planning programs to implementing and improving them.
According to the WHO, collaboration among people with lived experience, mental health professionals, policymakers and researchers can help deliver services tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
The organization also stressed the importance of expanding community-based mental health services, ensuring continuity of care and encouraging greater public discussion about mental health.
